The Manatee Viewing Center began when manatees started seeking refuge at Big Bend Power Station to keep warm during the winter.
At Tampa Electic’s Manatee Viewing Center, you can learn about manatee’s and their habitat, walk a butterfly garden, see how Big Bend Power Station generates electricity for the community, climb the wildlife observation tower and more.
The Manatee Viewing Center is open from Nov. 1 to April 15, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily. The center is located at 6990 Dickman Road, Apollo Beach, FL 33572.
