Tampa: Boba Cafe, Sometimes you're thirsty, sometimes you're hungry. A beverage with sweet nuggets of tapioca within will satisfy both needs in one draw of an oversized straw. But people flock to the International Boba House and Internet Cafe in north Tampa for more than a taste of the Far East (boba drinks originated in Taiwan). Entertainment from musicians like Jose Valentino as well as graphic art displays and lively conversation make it sometimes seem as if the cozy boba den is levitating. Open very late most nights. 2764 University Square Drive, Tampa FL 33612 (Between USF and University Square Mall) Telephone: (813) 866-8569 http://www.myspace.com/bobainternetcafe |

Tarpon Springs: Saint Somewhere Brewing Company: Small brewery makes Belgian-style beer that is distributed to some 20 states. It's mostly a labor of love by owner/brewski-master Bob Sylvester. But when he has a batch ready to bottle, he calls in volunteers. That would be you. Email Bob to get on his email list for volunteer bottlers. Your pay: lunch and a sixpack—and a lot of fun. I'm guessing Bob wants only adults helping on bottling day. Plans are tyo have an on-premises beer sales permit by August 1, 2010. Email Bob at saintsomewherebrewing@earthlink.net |
